Description

What is a query?   This session will explore the creation of a single vs. a multi-table query and how they can be used in Access.  Activities will include different filtering practices, working with wildcards, applying And, or AND Between statements, working with if statements and concatenation.  Examples of Actions queries such as Make-Table, Append, Update, Crosstab and Delete will be provided, and a look at how parameter queries work will be explored.  Other examples provided will look at how queries can be connected to other queries an dhow queries can be tied into reports.

In this session, participants will take a comprehensive look at what mail merge features can do in Office 2010.  Outside data examples will include lists from Excel and Outlook, with filtering of outside data discussed.  This session will also explore what Access 2010 can do in terms of mail merge and when you may prefer it.  Practice files for this session are included in registration fees.

Description

From the ground up, this session takes end users through the process of creating and using a project plan file in Project 2010.  Activities will include creating a project plan file, adjusting settings to make sure it behaves correctly, adding and managing tasks, working with calendars and relationships and adding and managing constraints and deadlines.  Different views of the data, available forms and new ribbon-based tools will also be explored.

Please note:  This session is designed to provide end-users with a look at how to create a manageable timeline in Project 2010. The creating and application of Resources is to be covered in Project 2010:  Resources and Finalization.

Description

This course focuses on creating and applying resources to an existing project plan file.  Topics will include a look at the three resource types and how to apply them, fixed work vs. fixed duration, managing over allocations of resources through splitting tasks and working with Leveling.  This session will also cover how to save and use Baselines as well as how to view and manage a Critical Path.  Time permitting, a look at reporting options in Project will be provided.  

Please note:  This session is designed to show how resources and settings work with an already created task list.  The creation of a task list, calendar settings and constraints are covered in the session Project Planning Success.

Description

The ETI Pro Series is a hands-on approach to applying the skills we use daily.  Each session is designed around a core topic that will utilize a project to demonstrate current trends, application flexibility and time saving techniques.  The Creating Interactive and Mobile Document session will evaluate the current web, new media and mobile document trends.  We will utilize Adobe Acrobat and InDesign to create an interactive PDF presentation that will enable the user to focus on the content rather than the PDF viewer interface.  An interactive web document with a high degree of user interactivity will also be created to demonstrate the possibilities of creating hybrid documents that we can use both online and offline. 

Session participants will create two projects:

Project 1:  PDF Slide Show - This project will walk through the creation of an interactive PDF document.  We will leverage dynamic links, view settings and transitional effects to create a feature rich user experience. Project 2:  Interactive Document with Page Curl - This project will walk through the creation of an interactive web based document.  We will use InDesign to create interactive buttons, page turn effects and dynamic links to create a document that can be viewed online using the Flash format.
