DISC for Communication
Manage your boss and your team by understanding their personality.
This workshop positions you and your staff members to increase the productive nature of working relationships. A study conducted of executives revealed that interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and the capability to communicate in a meaningful manner to both individuals and groups are of extreme value to them in a successor. DISC is a behavioral style instrument used to explore personal behavior tendencies and preferences of each participant.
All workshop participants will discover how to determine and apply different relationship building strategies. Developing approaches to encourage openness and receptivity during interactions with peers, direct reports (if applicable), supervisors and customers are vital components of influence and collaboration. Workshop participants will examine how different behavior tendencies of others often necessitate modifications in personal behavior to succeed.
Grammar & Style Crash Course
We all remember sitting through monotonous grammar and style lessons during our formal education. Whether the last time you talked about the difference between a direct object and an object complement was high school or college English comp, after years as a professional, the finicky rules of writing often give way to convenience and slang. While everyone makes this shift, there’s also nothing which makes a person look less professional than using the wrong form of “to/two/too” or writing an email in text talk.
In our Grammar and Style Crash Course, MFA and English professor Amber Peckham will review the basics of English grammar with your team. We’ll also talk about style and syntax, how to structure a sentence, and flow from beginning to end in a piece of writing. Best of all, the presentation will be engaging, informative, and, dare we say, amusing.
Outlook Beyond Essentials
Most of us have used Outlook for years. Unfortunately, because of that, upper management assumes we know how to get the most out of Outlook. With each new release, Microsoft has enhanced Outlook. Most of us haven’t kept pace with the tools available. This session updates you on new features from 2010 on that will make Outlook be your tool, not the other way around.
